Q: How do you determine the cost of an order?

A: An engraving order is quoted based upon size of the item, complexity of the artwork and the quantity. You can view our Gallery for an idea of price ranges. We give a firm cost of your order upon review of your design. Additional charges will apply for rush orders.

Q: Do I need to pay up front?

A: No, but we do require a 50% deposit on some Larger orders, with the balance due upon completion.

Q: Do you offer stock designs (artwork) for me to choose from?

A: we do offer over a varied of pre-designed artwork, however we are a custom engraving company. If you have a logo or your own artwork we will do our best to include it on the item you would like to have engraved. Design/art fees may apply depending on detail.

Q: What do I need to supply to you for artwork?

A: For best results, supply us with the best artwork you have available in order for us to closely match your design. Although we can work with PDF and JPG, we do prefer a vector file in Illustrator or Corel Draw. **For best results the image should be black and white or have stark contrast with no shadows.

Q: What file formats for my design or logo do you accept?

A: We accept vector formats such as .AI or .EPS that can be opened with Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw. **If you are submitting a vector file in these formats, it is helpful if you convert all fonts to outline or curves first.

Q: Is there a charge to digitize my design?

A: There is a charge to make your design ready for engraving. This charge is dependent on the complexity and the size of your design. An exact quote can be given after our engraving department reviews your design.

Q: Can I send a file by email?

A: Yes, design files can be emailed to info@ideasinstone.com as an attachment.

Q: Can you enlarge or reduce the size of my design?

A: We can enlarge your design up to the maximum area that our machines can handle. Reduction of your design is limited to the point where your engraved design will hold the required detail. E-mail us your design for review.

Q: What is the largest engraving area for a design?

A: The engraving area will depend on the item being engraved on. Our booth can accommodate flat surfaces up to 24”x42”x2”. The depth of the item itself will effectively adjust the engraving area. For a good idea of limitations please view our gallery. **Larger designs can possibly be accommodated for an additional charge.

Q: How small can you make engraved letters or words?

A: For best results, we recommend that engraved text be a minimum of 1/4″ in height. The quality of text degrades considerably when less than this height.

Q: Are design charges applied to every order?

A: No. Design charges are not applied for reorders if we have your engraving-ready file.

Q: Will I see a proof of my design?

A: A proof will be emailed for your approval. An approval will be required for the order to move into production.

Q: How long will my order take to complete?

A: Upon final art approval, our standard turnaround time for a basic order is 3-4 weeks. Large orders may require additional production time.
